For the MTV Europe Music Awards taking place on November 6 in Rotterdam, Wizkid and Olamide will be battling for the Best African act.

Are They Back Together? Timaya Stirs Controversy with Picture of Empress Njamah

Timaya is doing the most, stirring up controversy about his love life with a recent picture of his ex-girlfriend, Empress Njamah.

The former couple who called their relationship quits following a very public and messy breakup in 2010, seem to have gotten over the bad blood between them and are back to being friends.

The Plantain Boy crooner shared a picture of him and Empress together and fans have gone on a wild goose chase, reaching, and even questioning if they are back together.

“It’s always a pleasure seeing u my dear friend. EMPEE”, he captioned the candid shot in which they appeared to be deep in conversation.

A lot of the fans have hailed their display of maturity while some even speculate that the pair, after all these years, are still very much in love. Some fans have even gone ahead to cite Tuface and Annie Idibia as ‘examples’ in their desire to see the exes get back together.

This is the first time the former couple who have never hesitated to blast each other in the media will have something akin to nice to say about each other.

On numerous occasions, both have said their relationship ‘was a huge mistake they both regret.’ Timaya has been in a long term-relationship with his current girlfriend with whom he shares 2 daughters and Empress is doing her thing.

It is good to know that the previous animosity is now water under the bridge.

Video Premiere of Owo Blow by Olamide

If you can’t get enough of those sweet dance tunes, then the latest song by Olamide titled Owo Blow will definitely strike you. The YBNL boss recently dropped this hot track in August and now Owo Blow has a banging hot video. This song promises to be a hit for all those who love to turn up.

The music video was shot by Clarence Peters and almost has a futuristic scifi look to it.

Olamide Blasts Critics: ‘The Vultures Said I Stole Dagrin’s Style. I did not. I am Magic!’

Years after critics accused Olamide of stealing Dagrin’s style, the YBNL boss is finally responding to the criticisms that almost overshadowed his career.

“Everything the industry denied me of when I started are coming my way now,” the ‘Bobo’ rapper wrote on Instagram today. “The vultures in the industry tried to kill my shine, saying I stole Grin style. We all love Grin but that was a tough one to overcome, trust me.”

For a long time Nigerian Twitter held polls and conversations about the similarities between Olamide’s kind of music and the late Dagrin’s. And in his 2015 interview with Vanguard, the YBNL boss, who has a penchant for dropping hot songs back to back, said the trials paved way for his success.

Now, he has written a very long note to his fans, noting that he isn’t swayed by awards or money; he loves music.

“I’m at peace with myself. I am happy, living my dreams, bringing my brothers up, repping my hood, my heritage, my culture,” he writes today, adding, “I am magic.”

What Is Psquare’s New Song ‘Bank Alert’ All About

So Bank Alert is a hit song by Psquare and the story from the video is all about a poor young guy who goes to see his girlfriend and tells her he is leaving the country for a while. The girl’s parents don’t even like him anyway because he is poor and the father is quick to chase him away with a matchette.

The boy eventually returns 5 years later in private jet and welcomed at the airport to a big dance party. He drives home to a big mansion and the party continues there. But his trip is not complete until he goes to bring his first love home.

He drives back to the village with his friends in a convoy of exotic cars and guess who is the first to welcome him with serious dancing? Yes you guessed right, the girls parents, especially the father, dancing like an eccentric. He shows no restraint in proving that his Bank Alert is now “Pakam” meaning very large and presents the girl with a brand new range rover as a marriage proposal gift. The entire village is outside watching and the girl comes out finally accepting the proposal, while he carries her like a baby.

So that in a nutshell is what ‘Bank Alert’ is all about.

A review of Bank Alert by Psquare – a second chance to capture the world together

After months of unending friction, dynamic duo Psquare have released another banger, Bank Alert and this song is sure taking over the waves.

The song weighs in at 4.13 and is danceable all through with elements of the Igbo musical culture splattered all over. Bank Alert even references Onyeka Owenu’s Iyogogo song all the way back to 1992. We are exited this duo is back as a team and are forging ahead to do what they know how to do best, capturing audiences both in and outside the shores of Nigeria and Africa.

In a video apology, Peter apologises to the fans of their lovely music and says he takes responsibility for whatever happened, announcing that psquare is officially back.

This song is a love song and interestingly also talks about a lady chopping their money. They sure do love to impress ladies with their monies as they’ve worked hard for it. If past antecedents is anything to go by, this song promises to be a mega hit in and outside Nigeria.

‘Enough is Enough!’- Yemi Alade Slams Music Critics, Says They are ‘Gender Biased’

Yemi Alade is very furious with Nigerian music critics for challenging the lyrics of her songs.

The Gobe singer, who is known to never hold back on her opinion, went on a Snapchat rant yesterday, stating that she is fed up with the way these critics come after her song lyrics.

Yemi, who has been nominated for the 2016 All Africa Music Awards, also stated that she feels there is a gender bias amongst music critics in Nigeria. According to her, the songs of female musicians are more criticised than those of their male counterparts in Nigeria.

“I don tire for all this self-acclaimed critics in this Nigeria. They don’t do any form of research, they don’t listen to the artistes’ songs” she began her rant. ” I‘m upset about this kind of thing, I just really think that people don’t know when they’re actually being biased gender wise. They don’t know when they’re trying to pick on females. Enough is enough, y’all just shut up!

See the video below.

Yemi Alade is gearing up for her world tour which is set to take place in the United Kingdom, the rest of Europe and Asia.
What’s your take on this?

Video Premiere – Psquare’s Sensational Hit Bank Alert

Psquare have dropped a very hilarious video to their latest released track Bank Alert. The video features cameo appearances from Phyno, Five Star’s KC, Nollywood comedian Mr Ibu and Veteran Singer Onyeka Onwenu. The storyline highlights a poor village boy, toasting a fellow village girl. The girls parents, particularly the father do not want their daughter frolicking with a poverty stricken fellow.

Boy comes back to the village after five years as a millionaire and the story changes. Rolling in private jets, Range rovers and Mercedez benz jeeps.

Comedian Koffi Launches Attack on Kiss Daniel; Drags D’banj and Others Mercilessly

Ace comedian, Koffi has launched an online attack on the character of fast rising music act- Kiss Daniel.

The Chemistry graduate who has also dabbled into music had choice words for the Woju crooner and his G-Worldwide entertainment management crew.

Titling his long 2-part epistle “Who Will Wake Daniel With a Kiss?“, Koffi went full throttle in the lengthy tirade, accusing the 22-year-old of being a double-faced arrogant individual.

Koffi started off the post by highlighting some of the achievements of the FUTA graduate and then went to tell him to cut it with the double-faced act.

“First artiste to ever have a number 1 and number 2 video on the MTV Base countdown for weeks. First new artiste to ever drop an album without any major industry collabo. First artiste to blow up within a short period of time yet like Burna Boy hardly headlines any major shows, why? Let it be known that Mr ‘Jombo’ truly did not come into the music scene to ‘woju’, he proved his mettle ‘Laye’, and has been having a ‘Good time’ with his ‘Mama’ from ‘Sin City’. This express ride might be short lived however if our favourite fine boy does not cut the double face act,” he noted in the opening paragraph of the assault.

He even managed to throw an epic shade at 2Baba and M.I noting that while they had ceased to produce hit tracks, their humility had kept them going in the industry.

Not done with the barrage of insults, he went on to call Kiss Daniel “an advanced ‘Photocopy’ version of 9ice” noting that singer failed to learn from his ‘progenitor’s’ mistake despite the huge success the Gongo Aso crooner recorded early on his career.

Koffi goes on to say “This write up is not to attack the Lion but to let the people around him know that if care is not taken a wounded dog like Chuddy K, W4, Ice Prince, Ikechukwu, D’Prince (who is no longer here) will be better than a dead Durella.”

He also dragged D’Banj and a few others mercilessly. No one was spared.

The crux of the animosity however seem to be borne out of the refusal of Kiss Daniel and his management team to grant interviews despite his album dropping only a few weeks away.

Koffi ended his epistle with stern warninings for Humblesmith and Oritsemi. And lastly, he asserts that he “only writes about those he loves and is passionate about their progress.”

Kiss Daniel and his team are yet to respond but it sure looks like we might be gearing up for another feuding season.

Kcee and Emoney’s Love for this Female Fan Has Everyone Talking!

Kcee and his brother Emoney have proven that they never turn their backs on loyal fans.

Yesterday, the two Five Star Music executives visited a female fan who delivered a set of twin girls – same pregnant female who took part in the #Tinana dancing competition – and they had a huge surprise waiting for her family.

Recall that the heartwarming relationship started when the pregnant mum posted her dancing video and she was massively criticised for it, but the Five Star Music singer, impressed by her loyalty, paid her family a surprise visit.

Now, the mum has welcomed a set of twins, and keeping to their promise, Kcee and his brother Emoney paid her a visit at the hospital, cleared her bills and also showered her with much love.

“She delivered a set of twins (girls )yesterday and we couldn’t wait but to celebrate with her,” Kcee wrote on his Instagram page, adding that they also gave her family some money.

This is not the first time the Five Star family will be rewarding their fans.

In October, the Limpopo Master Kcee traveled all the way to Anambra state to give a newly married couple the surprise of their lifetime by performing for free at their celebration and showering them with gifts.

The family continue to give back to their fans, hence fans are currently sending them good wishes.

Sweet! Kcee Surprises Pregnant Corper Criticized for Partaking in His Dance Contest

Kcee continues to prove he is indeed a celebrity with a heart of gold.

The Limpopo singer is presently conducting a dance contest to promote his latest single Tinana and he has asked fans to share videos of themselves online dancing to the song to stand a chance of winning $2,000.

One of the contestants is a heavily pregnant youth corp member, who shared a video of herself seriously rocking to the song with her bare baby bump in display.

See the video below.

Unfortunately, the video didn’t sit well with some Nigerians and the expectant mother suffered a backlash.

But Kcee recognized her efforts and even though the contest is still ongoing, the singer searched for the lady, paid her visit and gave her an undisclosed amount of money.

See what he shared on his Instagram page:

Kcee and his brother, E-money are known for their charitable ways and have blessed a number of Nigerians over the years.
