Everything that has a beginning has an end. Idyl wins the voice Nigeria 2017

With the coaches, Timi Dakolo, Patoranking, Yemi Alade and Waje all dressed to the nines, and the hosts, IK Osakioduwa and Stephanie (Coker) Aderinokun looking stunning, the grand finale of the voice Nigeria season 2 started out with an entertaining performance by Mavin Records twin sensation, DNA.

Afterward, each of the coaches and their talents delivered memorable performances, and the talents to move to the finale was made known. Yemi and her team performed her latest single, “Knack Am”. Team Timi’s rendition of “Find You There”, Timi’s yet-to-be-released song dedicated to two of his friends that have passed on, was somber, sad and literally made me think of eternity. Waje and her team performed her new single, “In The Air”. Pato and his team also performed his latest song “Love You Die”.

The show saw Ebube, Idyl, Syemca, and Wow move the finale based on the viewers’ votes. It was so sad to see Jahtell, Yimika, J’dess, and Chris Rio come to the end of their journey towards becoming “the voice” of the voice Nigeria season 2. It was completely shocking to me that Jahtell did not make it to the finale. I was seriously rooting for her. I had to take a chilled drink to calm my nerves so I can continue with the show.

The top 4 talents delivered another round of performance. Syemca performed “The Matter” by Maleek Berry Ft. Wizkid. Ebube performed “Come Closer” by Wizkid Ft. Drake, Idyl performed “You Suppose Know” by Bez, and Wow’s performance of “Fada Fada” by Phyno Ft. Olamide took me to my hometown for my ideal traditional marriage ceremony.

After the performances, Syemca and Wow were evicted, leaving Idyl and Ebube as the top 2.

For the final performance, Idyl performed “This Time” by John Legend, while Ebube performed “I Am Your Angel” by Celine Dion.

PSquare younger version, DNA, delivered a beautiful performance of their latest song, after which Idyl was declared the winner of the voice Nigeria season 2.

The grand finale seemed to me like an audition. Do I think Idyl is a talented singer? Yes! Do I think he deserves to win? NO. Before you attack me, kindly note that today is my birthday.
