Reekado Banks was recently a guest at City FM, speaking with radio presenter, Melody Hassan about latest developments going on within his quarters.
He has been missing on the scene for a while and had left fans wondering where exactly he had gone. He has now finally dropped a new jam titled “Ozumba Mbadiwe” heralding his long awaited arrival back unto the music scene. Giving some insights into how the song came about and what he had been up to all this while, he explained that he had actually been working quietly and been very busy like the Ozumba Mbadiwe Road. For everyone who had been asking where he’s been, he made the song as an answer drawing an analogy between himself and how busy the road is known to be.
He mentioned that he had been working on the song for over a year. He also creatively related the song to the killings of the innocent #EndSars protesters also which happened on the same road. He mentioned that it was a part of his values to use his platform to shed light on on-going social and economic issues.
He stated that he had to take some time off to take care of himself so he can be in a 100% shape for his career and his fans. He basically needed to lookout for himself and take a step back.
He also revealed that he will be dropping an EP on the 11th of November, titled Off The Record 2.
